Fiji's Book List
Note: this list evolved as I wrote it from sci-fi recommendations to Othelos to recommendations to everyone. This list is by no means complete, and only includes books that I have read. I bet I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff. Also remember what age I am (teenager), so many of these books may not be suitable for anyone outside of that range.
Note: Below are books that I have not read as of yet, but that others have recommended to me.
- Asimov Sci-Fi Stuff:
- Well, there are a few things you should start with in Asimov's writing. You'll never get through all his books (he wrote more than 500 in total, but about 80 or so are good for reading).
A few good ones are: (and some of these are short stories)
Foundation Trilogy (there are more than three books, all of which are worth reading, but the original three are the best)
Nightfall (is a short story, but Spider Robinson expanded it into a more complete story; either is fine)
I, Robot
The Bicentennial Man (and other stories)
Pebble in the Sky
The Naked Sun
Nemesis
- Heinlein Sci-Fi:
- The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (possibly my favorite book)
Starship Troopers
For Us, The Living
Note: He has a lot of books. I've read several of them. The only one that I have read that I didn't really like was Stranger in a Strange Land.
- Arthur C. Clarke Sci Fi:
- 2001: A Space Odyssey (That one was good, but the ending was weird. The later books are all weird)
Note: All of the rest of his books strike me as weird, but many, though weird, are still good. Among them are:
The Fountains of Paradise
Childhood's End
The City and the Stars
The Hammer of God
- Frank Herbert Sci-Fi:
- Dune (series)(I read.. the first three?) The other two are Dune Messiah and God Emperor of Dune... there are many others, which I haven't read.
- Andy Weir:
- The Martian
- Orson Scott Card Sci-Fi:
- Ender's Game (series) (I only liked the first one; the others get weird in my opinion. But it's a very popular series)
- George Orwell-Eric Blair:
- Note: If you haven't read these, I can't help you.
1984
Animal Farm
- William Golding:
- Lord of the Flies
- Ray Bradbury Sci-Fi:

Something Wicked This Way Comes

- Michael Crichton:
- Jurassic Park
The Andromeda Strain
- Douglas Adams Sci-Fi:
- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Trilogy, but all five books are worth reading)
Note: Next time I say 'So long, and thanks for all the fish,' perhaps you'll know what I mean.
- Madeline L'Engle:
- A Wrinkle in Time
- Aldous Huxley:
- Brave New World
- Jules Verne=Sci-Fi:
- Note: These are pretty old, but if you're in the mood, they're worth giving a chance.

- Don Quixote
- Philip Pullman:
- The Golden Compass (series); The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass
- Garth Nix:

- John Flanagan:
